I’m Ray Adamyk—a speaker, preservationist, and founder and president of Spectra Company.
I’ve spent decades working with craftspeople and preservation professionals to restore places that carry our history. In Pomona, that work extends to The Union, The Cathedral, and the Lassie House, alongside community service through P-Towne and Faith Leaders Connection.
I’m also the founder of Homes of Promise, which provides recovery homes and transitional sober living for men and women in Los Angeles County.
I’m a Life Pacific University alumnus and a graduate of Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I bring the experiences behind my work to conferences, community gatherings, and events of all sizes.

The former Pomona YMCA, built in 1922, is now The Union on Garey. Its restoration connects the character of a historic building with the energy of downtown Pomona today.

Visit The CathedralMichelle and I purchased the Lassie House in 2017 and worked extensively to restore it. The Pomona landmark was the childhood home of Jon Provost, who played Timmy in the television series Lassie.
Its restored rooms, Lassie Library and Museum, stained glass, and commemorative well connect the home’s history with its life today: a setting for weddings, private and corporate events, and vacation stays through our Airbnb. Michelle manages the house, our Airbnb, and the Lassie House website.

RESPECT. RESTORE. REVITALIZE.
A place to create.
A place to skate.
A community to belong to.
P-Towne puts compassion into practice through community partnerships.
As board president of P-Towne, I’m part of a nonprofit committed to Pomona and the surrounding region. Its mission connects youth programming, community integration, small business incubation, and support for global social justice projects.
That work reaches from supporting Faith Leaders Connection and sober-living recovery homes through Homes of Promise to helping build homes in Tijuana with Spectra Company and Spectrum Ministries. P-Towne also supports clean-water projects in Tanzania with Wild Hope International and the work of Food for the Hungry.
Preservation is part of that service, too. While Spectra leads the restoration of Salem Chapel, P-Towne supports awareness and fundraising for the historic church connected to Harriet Tubman’s legacy.
Homes of PromiseI founded Homes of Promise to provide recovery homes and transitional sober living homes for men and women in Los Angeles County. Homes of Promise offers a safe, supportive living environment rooted in love, grace, and accountability.
The homes foster community and peer support for people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, as well as those facing homelessness, returning from incarceration, or rebuilding their lives after sex trafficking. Shared living and structured routines help residents build healthy habits and stay connected to others on the path to recovery.
Programs include regular 12-step meetings, routine drug and alcohol testing, and employment support. Through workforce development, residents can access job resources, training, and connections to local employers as they work toward stable employment.
Art needs space—and a community around it. On the ground floor of The Union, Immersive Art Studios & Gallery brings artist micro studios into a historic landmark, giving independent artists a place to work and connect with Downtown Pomona’s creative community.
The studios are built over the former YMCA’s original indoor swimming pool. The Looking Glass viewing deck reveals the preserved YMCA logo mosaic below, keeping the building’s history part of its next chapter.

for Unity Day LA
A day of boxing, music, and bringing people together.
Unity Day LA is a nonprofit with a mission to unite individuals and communities. Its work connects unity and reconciliation with preserving history, including the historic Salem Chapel in St. Catharines, Ontario, where Harriet Tubman worshipped.
Our Unity Day LA event at the Fairplex brought 5,000 people together. I stepped back into the ring as “Sugar” Ray Adamyk for a celebrity boxing match with actor Darris Love, alongside a program featuring amateur and professional boxing.
The archived program included Sean Garcia vs. Israel Mercado and Chop Chop vs. Devon Alexander, with Shawn Porter, Victor Ortiz, and Kaliesha West listed as boxing commentators. It brought the energy of boxing together with music and a shared purpose.
For me, it was a great day for our community—and the celebration continued afterwards with a concert at the Fox Theater.
